Just read the above article with interest (it's a quiet day..)

Agree with pretty much everything there, to various degrees. Except that one point about not using popup windows. There are so many instances in which popups are better for either aesthetic, information structure, or coding purposes that it just seemed a really wierd point and worthy of discussion. Anyone care to chip in?

I agree with your points for the most part. However, I know I am annoyed by popup windows. Especially ones that serve no porpose other than annoying me to buy some great new product or service that I already have, or have absolutely no interest in! :D

I think the MOST annoying poop-up windows (that's NOT a typo...) are the ones that use "onClose" or "history(-1)" as their popup event. Those sites are often the ones I'll never visit again. I think those are the types of pop-up windows that the article was referring to...

Anyway, back to work here!
