Programming for Palms

Does anyone know what language is used for developing software for the Palm OS? What all is required to build software? Does anyone know a good resource where I can find/learn all this?

Has anyone heard of Falch.net? Is this a GUI developing tool, or is a knowledge of C still required? My programming experience is really limited to BASIC and a little Pascal, but I haven't used either in years, and I can't shell out the 200$ for the developers tools for the BASIC tools anyhow.

The majority of Palm OS development right now is in C (emphasis added)I guess that doesn't really answer the question completely, but...
