Sorry if I'm in the wrong place. I am trying to find out how to change the "Entry dividers" in my guestbook. Right now there is a simple line, and the code just says <hr>

Does anyone know what code I should be using or could direct me to the proper place to ask my question?

Thank you very much.

Hi merely,

The answer to both of your questions is dependent upon the program you are using for the guestbook. On Almost OnLine, guestbooks are supplied by the ISP and allowed modifications are extremely few in number. So, I guess I'm asking how is your program implemented? Where did it come from? Geo-Cities? or off-site?

Vinny

http://venus.guestworld.tripod.lycos.com/wgb/wgbview.dbm?owner=MerelyGorgeous

This is the link to my GB. It is the most common Guestbook I have seen...and I've seen a lot. They (Lycos) have a place inside where I can do some fancy editing (i.e. background, font, etc.)
There is a place to enter a divider code, but as yet, I don't know how to change it. (As I mentioned the code there now is simply <hr>)

I'd like to put a differnt bar there that I have dl as a gif. Any advice?

Ps...Have never dealt with AOHell and ain't startin' now.:o)

Ok...I did NOT make those faces there on purpose. One was just a parenthesis! Eegads. Sorry about the mess.

My sig. looks screwy too. Must fix it up.

Hi,

While I don't know anything about that guest book, have you tried the easy solution first ie.. replace the <hr> (horizontal rule) with an image tag
<img src="location & name of image" alt="my divider"> ?
If it allows you to change thing like background color or image then this might work.. Otherwise let us know, maybe one of the other poster will have some first hand knowledge of this guestbook.

Later

John, sorry about that didn't see you on board, you can remove this message if you want since we both said the same thing. :(

I disabled the smilies in the other post. Not sure why the first one came up. The second happend because the eyes and the nose made the code for a smiley. --> :o

Upload the image to your site, then replace that <HR> with:

<IMG SRC="http://youraddress/yourpic.gif">

That should do the trick. :)
