Please help!!
I'm trying to create a logo. I have the name in text and graphic that's composed of bunch of lines. I need the background to be transparent so it doesn't have white block on the top of my web page.. but I couldn't figure it our for the life of me. (This is the first time I'm using these software.)
So I tried importing the image from the scanner.. which I like better because I was able to create this in Word and the quality is much better.. but I still can't figure out how to take the background off and make it transparent so I can have only the text and the line as a jpeg.
Can anyone please help me?
Thank you!!!

All you need to do is remove the color you want to be transparent, then save it for the web as a GIF with transparency using Photoshop. A quick way to select everything is to use the magic wand tool to select something that is the color you want, then in your menu choose Select --> Similar and then clear the area by pressing the backspace/delete key. Remember that you want to preserve the background layer, so make a duplicate and work with that instead if the background is the only layer you have. When you export, use GIF as the file format, and make sure that you check the transparency box.
